We'd like to invite the author to our school/university to give a talk or lecture on one of her books. Is that possible?

The author will accept invitations to give lectures or talk to students if her schedule allows it. To arrange the dates, conditions and fees, please write to the Contact page of this website.

I have several books by the author and I would like her to sign them for me. How can I do it?

The author will gladly sign any book during her public presentations in libraries, bookstores, book fairs, conventions, etc. If you cannot go to the event, you can ask someone who lives nearby to manage it on your behalf.

I finished writing a book (or short story) and I'd like Chaviano to read it to give me her opinion. How can I send it to her?

In the past, the author personally helped many people that sought help to review their books. At this moment, for legal and time reasons, she is unable to read or give advice on unpublished manuscripts.

Could she give me some advice on how and where to publish a novel or a story?

The author published a series of articles in her blog related to this topic. The first post was published on December 3rd, 2011. Search for it at the blog's Archives (right column, at the bottom). You can follow the whole series from there. Keep in mind her blog is in Spanish.

Where can I buy Chaviano's books? I can't find them in stores.

We recommend that you ask directly to the bookstores, where you can order them. You can also buy them online. On each book's page in this website, there is a section called Where to Buy. There you'll see the links to some retail sites. If the link does not exist, that probably means that the book is out-of-print. Some could be reprinted in the future. Which of her books are in digital format?

At this time, only Extraños testimonios (Huso Ediciones), The Island of Eternal Love and Gata encerrada (Amazon) are sold in digital format.

I have a great idea for a book, but I don't know how to write it and I'd like to share it with the author. How can I send it to her?

The author appreciates all the readers that offer their personal anecdotes and stories as material for her books. But she already has a file cabinet full of sketches and ideas of her own, that -- she suspects -- will never be depleted.

Will the author accept to be interviewed for a school project?

At this moment, due to her busy schedule, she is unable to do interviews or help with school projects.

I'd like to make a comic book based on one of Chaviano's works. Can I do it?

It depends. Do you know a publisher willing to accept your work? If that's the case, send your proposal or project through our Contact page in this Website. Chaviano's literary agent will evaluate and answer it as soon as she can. Please, be sure to include all your information (name, address, phone number, etc) and a valid email.

I collect writers' autographs. Could Daína Chaviano send me hers to my address?

We are really sorry, but the author only give autographs at her book presentations.

I just published a book and would like to send it to Ms. Chaviano by regular mail. Could you give me her address?

The author cannot disclose her private address, but she'd be glad to accept your book if you meet her in any of her presentations.

I have published an essay [or academic paper] analyzing one or more subjects in Daína Chaviano's works. I'd like to know if this can be included in the website.
