To
escape her loneliness in Miami, Cecilia finds refuge in a bar where she
meets a mysterious old lady. Following this first encounter she returns
to the same bar every night to hear from the old lady’s lips three
stories
that date back more than a century ago taking place in opposite ends of
the world: a suicide in China that initiates a familiar chain of
events,
a strange curse that plagues the women from a Spanish family, and the
story
of a young girl ripped away without warning from her home on the coast
of Africa and taken to a strange new world.
Each
character’s eventful journey crosses paths with those of other
characters.
The loves from the past are brought to life through Cecilia, who finds
herself emotionally bound to her native Havana, but also obsessed by
the
certain enigma of which she seeks to resolve.
La isla de los amores infinitos is an exciting saga of three
families,
developed in two parallel plots, one located in the present Miami, and
the other beginning back in the 1850s. Their histories come together in
a tale of forbidden and predestined love.
